Moving payroll data from SAP HCM to SuccessFactors requires more than mapping one column to another.

UploadWerk transforms data from infotypes 8, 14 and 15 into the required SuccessFactors template formats. It applies the necessary date and continuity logic so your source data is represented correctly for Employee Central Payroll, while highlighting anomalies and values that still need your attention.

And if something is still rejected because of a tenant-specific rule, you can take the result straight to the troubleshooting tool for the final corrections.

Fix failed imports without rebuilding the whole file

Finding the error in a Job Response is often only the beginning. The real time-consuming part is figuring out which transformation needs to be applied to which column, correcting all affected rows, and separating them from the rows that were already imported successfully.

UploadWerk groups rows with the same error type and lets you apply commonly needed data transformations to the columns you choose. For tenant-specific issues, you can also edit the affected values manually. The final export contains only the corrected faulty rows, so you can re-upload what needs fixing without importing the rows that already worked.

Your source data is already there—it just isn't in the format required by your SuccessFactors import template. Upload your SAP HCM export or SuccessFactors Report Center export together with the target template instead of manually copying, restructuring and reformatting the data.

UploadWerk suggests matching fields and transforms your source data into the format required by the target SuccessFactors template, including dates, leading zeros and other formatting requirements. It also flags required target fields that are missing from the source and lets you review and adjust the mapping before exporting the completed import file.

How are my uploaded files protected?

Your uploaded files are available only during your active workflow session. They are isolated by a random browser-session identifier and are not offered as permanent account storage. Closing the tab makes them inaccessible from that tab, but it does not itself send a deletion command. Uploads, in-session edits, previews and generated downloads become eligible for automatic deletion after 1 hour. The production cleanup service runs every 30 minutes, so deletion may complete shortly after that threshold. Uploaded and generated file contents are kept in temporary private storage, not in the application database. Access is limited to the browser session that created the workflow. Uploaded business data is never sent to an AI model provider and is never used to train AI models. How do I find the correct files to upload?

Each workflow tells you exactly which files it needs. Depending on the task, this may include: • a source export (for example, an SAP HCM report or a SuccessFactors Report Center export) • a SuccessFactors import template • a Job Response file • a tenant reference export (such as an MDF object, Picklist or Foundation Object export) If you're not sure where to find them, these SAP resources should help:

How does UploadWerk handle tenant-specific values?

Your tenant always remains the source of truth. If your customer uses custom Foundation Objects, Picklists or Pay Components, UploadWerk can use your reference exports when preparing the data. That way, the generated files reflect your customer's configuration rather than generic example values.

How does UploadWerk decide how my data should be mapped or transformed?

UploadWerk compares the uploaded source structure with the selected target template using technical column names, known aliases and workflow-specific rules based on SAP SuccessFactors domain knowledge. Suggested mappings and transformations remain visible before export. You can correct them whenever the source naming or customer design requires a different decision. Every workflow ends with a review step where you can inspect the generated output before downloading it. You can move back and forth between the steps as often as you like until you're happy with the result.

What if I run into a problem or something doesn't work as expected?

Please use the contact form and include: • the workflow you're using • the step where the problem occurred • the exact error message (if there is one) • the request reference (if available) • what you expected to happen If the issue depends on the file structure, a synthetic or anonymised example is always helpful. What happens if my import isn't supported yet?

Hi, I'm Olimpia 👋

Over the last few years, I've worked on SAP SuccessFactors implementation and migration projects, and I kept running into the same challenge: preparing import files often took far longer than it should. Generating test data, cleaning spreadsheets, fixing validation errors and comparing job response files meant doing the same repetitive work over and over again.
